Hi team,
Welcome to the 7th edition of this thing, it's starting to feel exciting as the conversations around our Series A our progressing and our first team members are joining in about a week. On top of that, we've been chatting with some amazing people to join our team and those conversations have been going well.
This week I spent in NYC and Pennslyvania. I got to spend some quality time with @mg and go visit his home in PA. Funny to learn that in New Jersey they still require you to have a gas attendant pump your gas, who knew?!
This week was all about recruiting and the Series A. Oh, and teaching Matt how to play pickleball which was a fun morning workout.
Have a great week team. (The last week it's just me and @mg)
News this week
- We made an offer to Tim & Rob to join XMTP. These are the people who built mailchain.xyz as a side project over the last 2 years and we are really excited about what they bring to the table in the form of leadership, knowledge, and passion for this specific idea. We truly hope they will join the team and will find out this week.
- More conversations with partnerships and product leaders. Soumeya & Rita are both experienced leaders and we are excited about continuing our conversations with them and introducing them to more of the team.
- Spoke with Charles from Foundation about NFTs as a use case. Was a great conversation you can read the meeting notes here.
- Matt and I had dinner in NYC with Maaria from Sound Ventures. She's one of the reasons this entire idea happened and our biggest champion. We are excited to work very closely with Sound and Maaria.
- Great catch up with Peter Denton who is joining us to lead growth on September 6th. He's going to start contributing content in HQ this month so look out for more from him!
- We got our almost finished version of the brand design back from Form Capital. Can't wait to share it!
That's the big things from this week! Excited for another great week ahead.
Here's some fun photos from the week!
Here's us doing a meeting at Matt's house

Beautiful Pickleball courts at Matt's house

Probably the best tasting but most unhealthy chips and dip I've ever tasted
