Another exciting week in front of us as we get closer to having our push to production defined and timeline in place!

Eng has been making an impressive run here lately in the effort to get developers on board and building with XMTP. The effort to reach production, coupled with the interest from Coinbase Wallet in integrating has been 🔥 for this team and it's so awesome to watch.

We're on the edge of something very big here—and the team is showing that we're very ready for the task and journey ahead.

Hey all,

The last week was defined by everything coming together into a few great moments. The Coinbase meeting really helped solidify that we are on the right track, and the recruiting meetings just always remind me of how unique of a story we have as a company and vision compared to many other projects in the space.

We are so early but also working on something that can quite literally change how the future looks for crypto. I’m stoked to be here with all of you.

Hey all,

Big week ahead as we work through all of the RFCs that we put together last week, prepping for our big push towards production. The 🔥 fire 🔥 these last few weeks has been particularly awesome to see from everyone, and it's exciting to see all that energy pumped into the writing and plans.

While there is still so much work ahead of us, it's important to take a moment and appreciate the critical step that we're taking now that we'll be able to look back at as the start of something big.

We're building something that's in high demand, in touch with tons of developers ready to hit the ground running with us, and all at a time of huge scrutiny around big tech with soon-to-be web3 solutions. The ingredients are all shaping up for something profound here, and we're just at the ground level.

Hey team,

March 21st. It's actually 3-2-1.

Easy to remember. It's also a great date to remember and mark as a focusing point for what we are doing as a team, as a company, and as a product.

It's clear that we have one of the biggest opportunities to build something that will have a global impact at XMTP. The market demand is getting louder every day and the need to own the conversation around communication for web3 and be live in the market is critical.

Let's put a flag in the ground today. This is the day we all came together to understand what it's going to take for XMTP to become the communication protocol for web3.

As we push forward together, let's be sure to focus on the things that compound for the long term and help get our flywheel spinning faster and faster.

Hey all,

Big week last week, and another one in front of us. Saul, Shane, Peter, and myself will be at an offsite this week to work thorugh our launch plans, as well as setting up for Q2, and our future full team offsite.

Over the next few weeks we'll work to thoroughly define our short-and-medium term goals, as well as document our longer-term ones. The key for the next few months is knowing exactly where we are pointing our efforts, and deferring or outsourcing all else that doesn't meet a "must have" criteria.

Demand and competition in this space is heating up. We're well poised to capture the attention and the developers wanting to build with web3 messaging, and to do that focus will be our key.

XMTP Updates

  • Anoop accepted our offer! We're working through references now
  • Had great meetings with Inb0x and Rarible about looking into integrating XMTP
  • Saul set up a handy #decision-log channel in Slack to keep track of our RAPIDs, RFCs, and P/PS progress
  • Great discussion around storage

Decisions made

Going to try this out as a new section to socialize all of the decisions that were made in the week as a tl;dr of sorts

This has already been a big month for us, and we’re just getting started. Developers are already building on the protocol, we’re shipping new websites for XMTP and XMTP Labs, and making more information about the project public.

Hey everyone!

Last week was one of the most important milestones as a team. Bringing in outside developers to work with us and give feedback is so critical and releasing our test client was a massive step forward.

I was so inspired to see all of the developers and builders sharing their excitement. Here are a few comments I saw which I shared last week.

Alright, everyone. A little late to the game in getting this weekly dispatch up and running. But man, has it been an incredible two weeks.

It’s awesome to see that just in the last few weeks we’ve gone from a scaffold of an app to something that’s both looking great, and functioning just as intended. And to top it off, our SDK is delivering practically on schedule. It’s quite the feat, and one that we should all be very proud of.

I for one am impressed with the pace and quality of the effort everyone’s put in over the last few weeks, and it just makes me feel even more that we’re standing on the cusp of something big. With each new developer conversation the anticipation for XMTP is growing across the board, and it’s going to be an interesting next month or two.

Thanks to everyone for their awesome contributions here recently…
