Hey team,

Filling in for Matt this week who had some house things to handle this weekend.

I’ll speak for all of us when I say, thanks to everyone for one of the most collaborative weeks we’ve had since XMTP started. All of us come from different backgrounds, places, and work environments so spending time figuring out what works for us is so critical in these early days. The most important thing is to keep being proactive in communicating to each other what we think works, what doesn’t work, and suggestions on what to change.

It's up to each of us to help create the culture we want here and I'm loving the conversations and iterations that we are doing together.

Let's keep coming together, being clear about our blockers and needs of each other, unblocking each other, and moving faster in the same direction.

I'm excited for a couple more weeks of great collaboration and focus before the holiday break.

Have a great week, Shane Mac

What we are reading/listening to

A week in the life with Saul

What a week! My work highlight was spending 1:1 time with everyone on the team. This was a blast of fresh air compared to my recent BigCo experience, where it took two months to meet all my direct colleagues and I'd still find myself every day in meetings mostly consisting of people I'd never met before. I'm grateful for everyone's openness and readiness to help -- the pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together in my mind! (More on that later).

It was a BIG week for the twins, too. We took them to not one, but two holiday parties, and left them with a sitter last night while we went to a holiday dinner with friends. On top of all that, they accompanied us to Lowe's to pick out a tree and "helped" me string up the lights.

Here are June and Jonah totally racked out after making many new friends at one of the parties: B2AC81A5-8025-44E1-82F7-D7B1AA5D2FF3_1_105_c|666x500

And here they are enjoying a tutorial on how to string up lights on a tree. CF117690-27B5-4ECE-B8BB-B5ACBF7994EB|374x500

All that said, everyone's highlight of the whole weekend was discovering the Facebook Portal storytime feature. Grandma was on cloud nine!

Lastly, the art NFT collective that I'm a part of received some new previews from the sculptor we're collaborating with on our January exhibition. It's a study of the classical gods from Greek mythology -- here's one of his Hades variations. Looks rare! image (2)|500x500
