And here we are! The very first weekly dispatch, of which I hope there are many, many more to come. Right now the company is just @shanemacgithub and I, but as this is going to be a regular practice for us here at XMTP it's time to get things started on the right foot.
The goal of The Dispatch™️ will be to keep a pulse on the company, with weekly highlights and lowlights, as well as what the next week will hold.
Last Week
- @shanemacgithub and I got together in person for the first time since founding the company!
- Had a great conversation with a potential investor and an algorithmic game theory expert
- We dug deep on how we should build a mega simple platform, and work our way into more complex token models with spam controls in mind for the future
- Chatted with a couple of engineering candidates that all seemed promising
- @shanemacgithub published How to Quit on our blog, and into our Handbook.
This Week
- Focusing a lot of time on recruiting
- Building the pipeline
- Researching potential eng lead candidates
- Another big focus will be on putting together some early product documents to start outlining what XMTP looks like in the early days
- Publishing another piece in our handbook series
